BIO

Sandi Elizabeth Halley is an Austin-based artist originally from Lubbock, Texas. She received her BFA from Texas Tech University and is currently an MFA candidate in Painting at the University of Texas at Austin. Her paintings construct contemporary mythologies that
examine systems of power and their social and psychological architectures. Through intricate environments structured by ornament, architectural frameworks, and allegorical figuration, Halley explores hierarchy, instability, and resilience. Employing a self-generated
symbolic lexicon and layered pattern, her work positions myth as a critical framework forreflecting on contemporary experience.
